Earn Discounts with MealShare Volunteering

  • Community MealShare members of Finding Camelot can benefit from participation discounts by volunteering for meal preparation and buffet shifts.
  • There are two, 2-hour shifts available daily: the prep shift starts 2 hours before the meal is served, and the buffet shift starts when the meal is ready.
  • The buffet shift involves maintaining the dining hall, refilling and refreshing the buffet for 1 hour, followed by 1 hour of cleaning up.
  • As part of the clean-up process, leftovers from the buffet are frozen, dated, and made available for members as take-and-bake meals, catering to those who keep different hours than the dining hall.
  • These shifts offer members an opportunity to engage with the community and earn discounts on their MealShare membership fees.
  • The system encourages active participation and ensures a well-maintained and enjoyable dining experience for all members.
  • Volunteer shifts are available on a first-come, first-served basis, and members can sign up for a shift up to 8 hours in advance of meal service.
  • If a member fails to show up for their scheduled shift, they will lose their advance signup privileges for a month, with each subsequent no-show adding an additional month to the restriction.
  •  This policy ensures that all members have a fair chance to participate and that volunteer commitments are taken seriously.
